Dubai – October 2023

Before jumping into the things you should know, lets learn a little bit about the country that we are visiting or plan to visit first. The United Arab Emirates, or the Emirates or in short UAE, is a federation of seven princely states : Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. The capital city is Abu Dhabi and the largest city is Dubai. The city is a mirage in the desert with huge shopping malls and extravagant entertainment attractions. The different spoken languages of Dubai are Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

In 1971 these 7 States of the Persian Gulf coast merged to form the United Arab Emirates. UAE is the third-largest oil producer in the Gulf after Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Mumbai – June 2023

Mumbai is a combination of seven islands on the western part of India and serves as the commercial and cultural capital of the nation. It is also considered to be one of the most populous cities in the world. The name Mumbai is derived from the Hindu goddess Mumbadevi. It became the base of the Indian independence movement headed by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1942 till the time India achieved its independence. Earlier known as Bombay, it was renamed to Mumbai in 1995.

Pune & Lonavala – April 2023

The history of Pune takes us back to 6th century where it is linked to Chatrapati Shvaji Maharaj and the Maratha empire. Its is known that the city of Pune is located at the juncture of the Mula and Muta river. This juncture used to be called Punya, and thus the name Pune came from there. Pune was at one time the “monsoon capital” of the Bombay Presidency of the Britishers. Currently Pune also serves as the headquarters of the Southern Command of the Indian Army. The Pune airport is a dedicated defense airport controlled by the army personnel.

Kalimpong – December 2022

Kalimpong was previously a division of the Darjeeling district itself but now it’s a separate district all together in the state of West Bengal It Kalimpong is located at around two and half hours drive from Darjeeling as well as from Siliguri.

Durga Puja – October 2022

This year, Durga Puja will be celebrated from 1st of October till October 5th 2022. While Durga Puja is celebrated all around the world, no one does it better and with the same energy and enthusiasm as it is been done in the city of Kolkata in India. This is that time of the year again, when Kolkata comes to a standstill and welcomes their daughter, Maa Durga into their homes and lives.

Day trip to Chandannagore – October 2022

Chandannagar, situated on the bank of the river Hooghly was a French colony in earlier times. This beautiful town for a period of 300 years has a unique blend of culture and heritage which is a rich era in the history of Bengal during colonial rule.

It was also one of the main centers for trade for European merchants . Although the rest of India was under British Rule for many years, Chandannagar was under the French rule. On 2 October 1955, Chandannagar was added into West Bengal and also became a part of India after the independence.

New Delhi, Nainital & Mukteshwar – August 2022

Nainital – Is one of the most popular hill stations in the region. The name is derived from the famous Naina Devi temple. Tourists flock to Nainital through out the year from various part of the country and from abroad as well.

Nainital was basically founded by a European businessman in mid 80’s and later it became a summer tourist spot for the British who spent summers in these hills to escape the hot and humid climate of the plains. The Britishers built several schools, colleges and administrative buildings in this region over the years.

Bankura, Bishnupur, Joypur Forest – July 2022

Bishnupur is a town in the Bankura District of West Bengal and located at about 132 km from Kolkata. There are lot of trains which run from Howrah, Shalimar & Santragachi Junction to reach Bishnupur. It takes approximately 3 to 4 hours by train to reach the heritage town.

Bolpur, Shantiniketan- July 2022

Located at a distance of 162 km from Kolkata, the little hamlet town of Bolpur has always been an attraction for tourists visiting this part of the world through out the year. Located in the famous Birbhum district, Bolpur has gained its popularity due to its close proximity to the very popular Shantiniketan. If you are looking to witness the raw culture of West Bengal, then Bolpur should definitely be on your travel list.

Orissa – April 2022

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 437-hectare zoo in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was established in 1960.

Deras dam located in Chandaka wildlife sanctuary. Tourists visiting the place can definitely plan a picnic at the dam or decide to stay for the night at the cottage

Garhpanchkot and Baranti – March 2022

Purulia district is the lowest step in the Chota Nagpur Plateau region of West Bengal. The place has earned quite popularity in recent times and its trending as the second best district in terms of number of visitors after North Bengal area of Darjeeling district.

Garhpanchkot is located at the eastern foothills of the Panchet Hill in Purulia and just 12 km away from Baranti Lake. Tourists generally cover the circuit of Garhpanchkot, Baranti, Mython & Panchet Dam. However due to shortage of time we only covered the former two places.

Manali & Kasol – Dec 2021

Himachal Pradesh lies in the Northern part of India and has been a major center of tourist attraction since decades. Off late the state has gained major popularity with backpackers exploring the smallest corner of the state, which not only offers the most majestic views of the Himalayas but also provides the gush of fresh air, peace & tranquility which people coming from bustling cities actually craves.

Andaman’s – January 2021

Situated in the Bay of Bengal in between the topography of India, Myanmar & Thailand there are roughly 300 islands which are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. This hidden piece of gem has been one of the most exotic and favoured honeymoon destination for many years as of now, especially for the Indians. The Union Territory has everything starting from its rich history and culture to one of the best beaches in the Asian subcontinent it does provide a remarkable experience for the backpackers and honeymooners.

Pondicherry – December 2019

Away from the hustle and bustle of big cities, Puducherry is a quiet little town on the southern coast of India. The unmistakable French connection, the tree lined boulevards, the quaint colonial heritage buildings, the spiritual sceneries, the endless stretches of unspoilt virgin beaches and backwaters and a surprising choice of restaurants serving a mélange of cuisines provide a heady mix of experience that draws travelers from near and far to the city. It is the perfect place to come if you want to take the pace of life down a few notches.

Pondicherry has a special vibe, not felt anywhere else in India. It is a blend of spiritual aura, colonial heritage, Tamil culture and the cosmopolitan flair of many nationalities in a small but varied town. This inherent ambience of Pondy becomes most evident in the oldest part of the town which flanks the seashore boulevard.

Darjeeling 2019

Darjeeling is a small town and the salubrious climate means walks around town are an extremely enjoyable means of getting around.

Mark Twain said about Darjeeling: “The one land that all men desire to see, and having seen once by even a glimpse would not give that glimpse for the shows of the rest of the world combined”. 

Gangtok – 2019

Gangtok is a cosmopolitan town which offers the tourist all possible amenities. Hotels are available in a range of prices along with a variety of eateries serving cuisine for all tastes. Shopping complexes, cyber cafes, night clubs and pool parlours abound for those so inclined.MG Marg, the main street of Gangtok town is a great place to chill out.

The country’s first litter and spit free zone, no vehicular traffic is allowed into the marg. You can sit at the Titanic Park or at the various benches stretched across the mall and take in the carnival like atmosphere, especially during the tourist season. The Mall is lined with shops on both sides of the road so shopping becomes an added pleasure.

The Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to famous one horned Rhino and many other varied and endangered wild life species has bagged the status of a “national park” as issued in a notification by the Union Forest and Environment Ministry.
